While working at Bandai Namco Entertainment America, I had the pleasure of getting to work on some early TEKKEN 8 activations.
Our EU office in Lyon mainly handled scheduling posts to the main TEKKEN social accounts, but every now and then our US office got to dip our hands into the pot. Luckily, we had the pleasure of handling a special influencer campaign leading up to the Game Awards in 2022. This is that story about the role I played in it.
What is #SAVETHED8?
TEKKEN 8 was revealed in a very tiny teaser at EVO 2022. But what’s wrong with that? Well…there was no gameplay. It was just letting the fans (and only that core competitive base) know that a new game was on its way.
The 2022 Game Awards were going to be the place where we showed off the first full gameplay trailer for TEKKEN 8. Our team coordinated with Geoff K. accordingly to make sure this was in motion so the rest leading up fell on marketing. How do we make sure more people tune in?
